Butterfly, Butterfly

HouseofLaughter_Cover.jpg

Butterfly, butterfly from beyond
Your wings make me laugh with delight

Out of nowhere
Gliding past
Your invitation too bright to ignore

Oh what a load Mother Earth has been carrying

And I’ve carried this heaviness, too
Fires try to ravage her beauty
Shouting in the streets
Attempt to deafen her ear
Floods and winds

More confusion with each gust

Sickness
In our souls
And bodies

Her pain
Seen, felt and heard

Yet

She pushes
Labors
Breathing
In
Out

Feeling pain with each contraction
But embracing
This experience
With compassion

And your colors, dear creature
Take my breath away

They remind me
Our Mother
She’s bringing something forth

Butterfly, butterfly
Your colors
So blue

Reminds me of the water
Within
All of us

Life force
Bright force
Press forth

Let new vibrancy begin
